The White Roses Ceremony on the Landing Beach in the Roger Sector (Battipaglia), the reenactment and Radio Onda History Telling Concert

On September 13, at Lido Spineta in Battipaglia, the reenactment of Operation Avalanche – the Salerno Landing of September 9, 1943 – will take place, with the participation of specialized reenactment associations such as Noi Soldati al Fronte 43-45 and the Living History Group. Several period military vehicles will also be on display thanks to Kubel 1943.
The aim is certainly not to glorify war, but rather to recall how, from that terrible battle, the local community – and later Europe as a whole – came to know Peace, thanks above all to the birth of the European Common Home, which united former enemies.
For this reason, the White Roses Ceremony, with the presence of local authorities and school students, will open the evening, followed by the event Radio Onda: a history-telling format that combines music, readings, and dance to narrate History in an engaging way.

The project is dedicated to young people and seeks to promote their social involvement by building on their passions, enhancing them, and supporting them also through training opportunities.Three days of preparatory workshops with the choreographers will serve not only to prepare the performance, but above all to engage with professional artists
In this spirit, the evening will feature the Mediterranean Youth Saxophone Orchestra of Rossomando, accompanying the narration by Benedetta Gambale on the influences of music in Italy and overseas during the war period. It will be an intertwining of music, words, and dance, thanks to the involvement of the schools of the International Dance Festival, with two choreographies by Luca Calzolaro and Jack Squadritti.
