Italy-Greece during the WWII, a study with Erasmus+ Seas of Peace Project

The Avalanche project aims to build a network with other projects and institutions to amplify the impact of the planned actions.

In particular, we have created synergies with projects born in the same territorial and thematic area. The Erasmus+ Seas of Peace project is the one that best overlaps with our objectives, a project between Italy and Greece to address the theme of Remembrance in relation to the war episodes in the Mediterranean.

The project ended in the first month of Avalanche’s activity with a mobility trip to Crete by the Italian school. The Mubat association organized an in-depth study on the themes of the Avalanche project.

These days have been an opportunity to study the traces left by the Italian presence during the war and the events that followed the landing in Salerno in September 1943, such as the presence of the Greek resistance at the Toplu monastery.

In particular, this study join thee Erasmus experience with our CERV “Avalanche” project which examines the consequences of Operation Avalanche in Italy and Greece. At School of Palekastro a day dedicated to friendship and Europe was held, the Greek and Italian boys and girls gave life to a small event with dances and a final action painting
