The “Digital Emergence” workshop at the Besta Gloriosi Institute in Battipaglia concluded yesterday with a photography lab in the immersive classroom. Carlo Bruno from Mubat, an expert in digital transformation projects involved with Italgas Heritage Lab and several PNRR initiatives for TIM, introduced students to the basic principles of photographic shooting applied to the archival field and, more broadly, to cultural heritage.
Beyond illustrating general photography concepts such as light and depth of field, the session focused on photographing documents and objects for technical documentation purposes. The workshop also explored lighting techniques for interviews, demonstrating how varying the position and type of lights can produce different effects.
The presence of Alessia, a young student passionate about photography, made it possible to create an engaging photo reportage, which we are sharing in this post. Congratulations to Alessia for her excellent shots.
Two classes specializing in graphic design and the students who participated in the Erasmus program attended the event, accompanied by Principal Carmen Miranda and their teachers.
The workshop was held as part of the Erasmus+ project “aMemoria” for Avalanche Day 2025, part of the European CERV Avalanche project, was once again supported this year by the Campania Region and the Italian Ministry of Culture, receiving official patronage respectively under the 2025 Cultural Promotion Plan and the National Fund for Historical Reenactments
