We have just concluded 4 days of study on #digital transformation #technologies for #culturalheritage with young researchers and specialists in the sector.
4 days always together to learn and get to know each other in the Summer School “Il Patrimonio ReImmaginato” organized within the #Avalanche project by the #mubat Association, #regesta, #uvsq Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and the #CDEC Foundation, with the support and patronage of #aiucd whose president, Dr. Marina Buzzoni, officially opened the Summer School.
The place where the school was held was particularly significant, the same beach where 81 years ago the Commonwealth contingent of Operation Avalanche landed. Behind this working group the same profile of the Amalfi Coast admired by the landed soldiers.
The aim of the initiative is to study the tools for the digital emergence of sources, data and tools for the dissemination of the history of the archival heritage (Digital Emersion V edition). This school is part of the Avalanche project (Audio Visuals and Languages Analysis Network for Cultural Heritage in Europe – Avalanche of Democracy) funded by the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme) call of the Horizon programme of the European Community Research Council (ERC).
The Avalanche project also has among its partners the University of Thessaloniki and #ItalgasHeritageLab of Turin. With the patronage of the EU and AIUCD the school has received the patronage of the MIC and the Municipal Administration of Battipaglia.
We talked and experimented on #LinkedOpenData , languages and descriptive methodologies to guarantee the interoperability of data, on the use of #transkribus , on digital Mapping, other innovative technologies and obviously #xdams. Giovanni Bruno, Laura Brazzo and Carlo Bruno collaborated with teachers Salvo Spina, Giovanni Pietro Vitali, Fabiana Guernaccini and Ilaria Barbanti with a session dedicated to Italian best practices.
