Fondazione CDEC organized a special event in which journalist and author Davide Lerner engaged in discussion with scholars Chiara Renzo and Giovanni Pietro Vitali on the new challenges of digital communication. The event was moderated by Laura Brazzo, Deputy Director of the Foundation.
A novel, an essay, a podcast, or perhaps even a map… Whatever the final format, reaching a “narrative” always involves unavoidable steps: one begins with the search for sources, moves on to collecting the data that emerge from those sources, and finally arrives at the decisive question: how should what has been discovered be told? What “form” should be given to the body of information and data gathered over months—sometimes years—of research?
Our archivists and historians have always faced these questions, and over time the communication tools they use have changed and expanded: no longer only books and articles, but also videos, podcasts, websites, and much more.
Today, new digital tools allow us to take further steps forward and make it easier to narrate the stories of the past as well as the events of the present.
The event took place at the Memoriale della Shoah on Sunday, 19 April 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the headquarters of the Fondazione CDEC Library,
Piazza Edmond J. Safra 1, Milan.
